Due South fans, you DON’T want to miss this in Toronto this August!

July 5th, 2012 by Marc No Comments

You may remember a few weeks back we spoke to John Wright, the organiser of RCW 139, the world’s only Due South convention which runs August 17-19 in Toronto (listen to the podcast interview here)

Well, here’s the press release from John detailing what exactly will be happening and who’ll be attending. This is going to be fantastic and we at FTN wish going to Canada is in the budget…

PRESS RELEASE

Hello Due South fans!!

If you are interested in attending RCW 139 , the only Due South fan convention happening this August, and haven’t registered yet, you only have until July 15th to do so! The same applies if you cant attend and would like a supporting membership (goodie bag) and haven’t ordered yours yet. We’ve started to receive some of the goodie bag items and they look fantastic! As we’ve already placed our orders for most items, this will be first come-first serve – and there are only a few memberships left, whether attending or supporting so don’t miss out!!
It’s going to be an unmissable event with an amazing guest list including:
Paul Gross – The main man himself, Constable Benton Fraser
David Marciano – Detective Ray Vecchio (from the Golden Globe winning series Homeland)
Tom Melissis – Detective Thomas Dewey (a convention favourite and one awesome guy)
Ramona Milano – Franscesca Vecchio
Catherine Bruhier – Elaine Besbriss
Jay Semko – Music (the man behind the infamous theme tune and all music on the show is also giving us a free, private, once in a lifetime concert!)
Kevin Rushton – Stunts (we are hoping he gives us a little demonstration too!)
(all guests are subject to work commitments)

This is likely to expand even further as we get closer to the event and cast and crew can commit. Most of the princicple cast came last time, including Paul Gross and they all had a blast! ! Added to our wonderful guests we have a jam-packed weekend lined up, with quizes, competitions, signings, filming location visits, merchandise stands, prop exhibition, gala dinner, charity auction and much, much more!

All the info is on our site www.rcw139.org and you can place your orders on our online, secure Paypal store. We can also advise on where to go for cheap flights and accomodation, including discounted hotel rooms, just email us at info@rcw139.org

We hope to see you there!

Me: “I don’t understand what this episode is about”

Sis: “Maybe if you didn’t keep fast-forwarding to close-ups of Callum Keith Rennie, you would actually understand the plot.”

…Plot?

My friends keep bothering me that I should read 50 Shades of Grey.

I don’t know how to explain to them that I would rather read RayK/Fraser fiction on the internet forever.

I could just sit here for hours watching this gif.

No, really.

I prefer to watch my Due South DVDs on my laptop than my TV because I feel like the laptop is closer to me so it’s a more intimate viewing experience.

Hokay, it’s Let’s Enjoy the First 5 Minutes of a Due South Episode with Deputychairman time! Tonight, I bring you Say Amen.

…so everyone’s discussing if there’s such a thing as love at first sight; Frannie puts Fraser on the spot and he does one of his typical Fraser-things by talking about the make of car, licence plate, whatever, yadda yadda. Only to add,

“But I do think it happens,” as he gazes longingly, as per Exhibit A.

Then the camera shows us where he’s gazing…Internet, can you guess where he’s gazing? Yes! He’s gazing at Ray, as per Exhibit B!

God I love Due South.

Does anyone else just rewatch certain episodes just for specific moments like this one? hahhh
